Lacey Spears's struggle seemed to be every mother's worst nightmare. From the day he was born, her son Garnett was afflicted with multiple illnesses. She shared all of his struggles on social media along with her struggles to be a perfect single mom. Apparently a courageous and selfless mother whose entire life was dedicated to her son, Lacey gained an empathetic and admiring online audience.
But when Garnett died from a sodium overdose at just 5 years old, Lacey was arrested for murder. According to authorities, Lacey had Munchausen Syndrome by Proxy and she was making Garnett sick to gain attention and sympathy.
Join us at the quiet end for a frank discussion of Munchausen by Proxy Syndrome and Lacey's story, which some have called a textbook example of the syndrome, with the worst possible outcome.
