JonBenet was born in 1990 in Atlanta, Georgia, the younger of the two children of Patsy and John Ramsey. At the time of her death, JonBenet was 6 years old and a student in kindergarten at High Peaks Elementary School in Boulder, Colorado.

JonBenet died in her home on December 25 or 26, 1996. A lengthy ransom note was found in the house, and her father, John Ramsey, found the little girl's body in the basement of their house about eight hours after she was reported missing. She sustained a broken skull from a blow to the head and had been strangled. This case has had a huge amount of attention over the past 20 years, but it is still unsolved.

Join Jill & Dick for this Christmas eve discussion of the most infamous Christmas murder in history.

The Covina massacre occurred on December 24, 2008, in Covina, a city in the suburbs of Los Angeles, California. Nine people were killed, either by gunshot wounds or in an arson fire inside a house, where a Christmas Eve party was being held. The perpetrator, 45-year-old Bruce Jeffrey Pardo, who entered the house wearing a Santa suit, committed suicide, dying from a gunshot wound to the head at his brother's residence in the early morning hours after the attack. Authorities cited marital problems as a possible motive for the violence; reports indicated that Pardo's divorce had been finalized on December 18, one week before the massacre. On this 10th episode, Jill and Dick discuss one of the most gruesome Christmas Crimes ever.

St. Bernardus Christmas Ale is the chosen beer for this tragic Christmas crime.

Connie Villa forced her three youngest children to ingest the undisclosed amount of drugs at their apartment before she honed in on her eldest daughter, Aniarael Macias, on Christmas day 2013.
When Macias refused to take the drugs, Villa told police she suffocated her daughter to death with her bare hands in their bathroom.
After Villa lured her ex-husband, Adam Villa, to the apartment, she stabbed him repeatedly in the upper torso, according to Officer Thomas Anderson, a Casa Grande Police Department spokesman. Adam Villa, who is the biological father of her three youngest children, escaped and called 911 while driving to Casa Grande Regional Medical Center.
Responding officers had to force their way into the home, where they found Villa with apparent stab wounds to her upper torso, Anderson said. She was holding a knife to her chest and had the three younger children at her side. This case paints a truly horrible picture of a family Christmas gone terribly wrong.

According to testimony, Joseph McEnroe and Michelle Anderson armed themselves and drove their pickup to the home of her parents, Wayne Anderson, 60, and Judy Anderson, 61, on the afternoon of Dec. 24, 2007. Once inside, McEnroe distracted Judy Anderson, who was wrapping Christmas gifts, while Michele shot her father. After Michele’s gun jammed, McEnroe then killed Wayne and Judy Anderson. The two then hid the bodies and carefully cleaned the home and waited for Michele Anderson’s older brother, Scott, his wife, Erica, both 32, and their two young children. Once the family arrived, Michele Anderson shot her brother. McEnroe and Anderson then shot Erica Anderson and McEnroe shot the children at the request of Anderson, 5-year-old Olivia and 3-year-old Nathan, because they didn’t want witnesses and said the children would be scarred for life having seen the parents killed.

Thankfully, the perpetrators of this disgusting crime will never be free to kill innocent people again.

He put her body in a bag in a shed on their Paradise Township property and tried to clean up the blood.
Authorities said Dustin Lee Klopp called state police on Christmas Day, told them about the body and arrived at the state police barracks in Lancaster about an hour later. The Friedli family home in Pinyon Pines, California was burned to the ground in 2006.  This was no accident.  Inside, investigators found the charred remains of Vicki Friedli and her boyfriend, Jon Hayward.  Out front, posed grotesquely in a wheelbarrow, were the remains of 18 year old Becky Friedli.  She, too, was burned beyond recognition.  This terrible crime went unsolved for years even though family and friends of the victims had no doubt who was responsible.  Finally, justice may be in sight.  Join us at the quiet end of the bar.

On a cold evening in January 2001, the idyllic community of Dartmouth College was shattered by the discovery that two professors had been brutally murdered in their own home. Investigators searched in vain for clues linking the victims, Half and Susanne Zantop, to their murderer or murderers. The residents of Hanover, New Hampshire, speculated about who could have been responsible. The grisly nature of the crimes themselves destroyed the sanctity and invulnerability of the community.  This was a crime without reason, apparently without motive.
