Unfaithful was released in theaters in 2002 with moderate success. But it was on cable TV and in it's DVD release that this tense, erotic tale of lust, love and murder became a modern classic.  Starring Diane Lane, Richard Gere, and Olivier Martinez, there is no shortage of great looking people.  More importantly, though, is the story.  A couple with a young child who are in love and seem to have it all.  The wife strays with a charismatic younger man.  The power, intensity, and destructive features of love and passion are explored.  Somewhat surprisingly, honesty and commitment emerge as important themes.  The conclusion never fails to please as it carefully flirts with just a touch of ambivalence.

Erica Lynn Parsons was reported missing July 30, 2013 by her adoptive brother.  She hadn't been seen since 2011.  It would be revealed that Erica was not in the family home for 20 months before police were notified. Her mother told authorities that Erica had been staying with her biological grandmother, a women for whom she had no address and no proof of identity.  Yet her mother continued to receive state support checks for Erica.

Erica was born with many disadvantages.  The child of an extramarital affair by troubled adults, she was unwanted before she was even born.  She was adopted by an aunt and uncle who abused and neglected her. This is a case of such an unfair and sad beginning, can there be any hope for a brighter future?  The odds are that Erica is dead.  It seems the least she deserves is justice for those who failed to respect her life and did not give her the love and care she needed.

A chemical engineer with his own legal firm and a professor at the local college, Donnie Rudd was at the top of his game.  He had everyone fooled by his public persona as an eccentric, charming, and successful attorney and family man.

Jill and Dick enter the mind of a lifelong sociopath and the lives of the people who shared his life. The things accomplished by Donnie Rudd were remarkable, but his lack of compassion and empathy, even for the woman who gave up everything for his love, was horrific.  Finally charged for one of the 4 murders he could well be responsible for, Donnie Rudd may finally be paying a price for his sins.

The beer review is stellar: Bourbon County Brand Coffee Stout from Chicago's own Goose Island Beer Company.
But be forewarned: Don't drink it alone!

William Tyrrell, 3 years old, disappeared from his grandmother's house in Kendall, New South Wales, on September 12, 2014. Days were spent meticulously searching for William in the bush, the neighborhood, and the Kendall State Forest. Finally, police determined that if William had wandered away he would have been found.  This was a blatant abduction of a child from his Nana's yard on a peaceful cul-de-sac. As part of Wednesdays for William, a campaign to help find William, True Crime Brewery is covering this case with as much current information as possible, hoping that someone will speak up if they know something about what happened to William.
Hop Hog IPA and Fosters are reviewed.

California native Levy, an intern at the Federal Bureau of Prisons in Washington, DC, went missing in May 2001 and her remains were found a year later in local Rock Creek Park. Soon after her disappearance, her case gained national attention when Levy's family claimed she'd had a relationship with married California congressman Gary Condit. He was cleared of involvement in her murder back then, and Guandique, an immigrant who had pleaded guilty to assaulting two other women in the same park where Levy's remains were found, became the focus of the investigation.

He was charged in 2009, and the case relied heavily on the testimony of a fellow inmate, Armando Morales, who said Guandique had admitted to killing Levy. He was convicted. The public defender's office said Guandique had always maintained his innocence and passed a lie detector test. Last year his attorneys petitioned for a new trial, claiming that Morales' testimony was a lie.  A new trial was granted, but then the attorney general announced that he will not be retried due to insufficient evidence.  This has brought suspicious eyes back to Condit.

Condit's attorney released a statement on July 28th this year, saying, "The failure of authorities to bring formal closure to this tragedy after 15 years is very disappointing but in no way alters the fact that Mr. Condit was long ago completely exonerated by authorities in connection with Ms. Levy's death."

Jill and Dick will go back to the beginning and share the latest news as well.  Come on down to the quiet end and listen. The beer is The Corruption by DC Brau Brewing.
